The land of the cowboys

Well, everywhere you go in Texas you will see ranches... ya... farm and grass and fences... and cows.. horses and trees... It was great. More peaceful than in LA. Green green green... even has crickets sounds at night.

Like this place a lot. Feel like the real country side. Yeeha!! Time to look for a rifle and go hunting...

Home sweet home

Well, my apartment looks just like that. Cosy and nice. Hopefully enough to fit 3 person. Else we'll get some trouble of not enough personal space! Haha.

The apartment is so nice. The surrounding is good. We walked on the freeway to get our food today. My! The cars were speeding like mad! Hope we don't become roadkills... already we saw many on the road! Scary!!!

KL - HK - LA - TX

Finally the day has come. Leaving to Texas, USA today. Taking Cathay Pacific this time. Woke up so early in the morning. Meet the rest at KLIA. Bumped into Amber Chia. Seems like she's going to HK as well. We hang out at the Cathay's lounge before departure.

The flight is OK, movie was good. But the food is not so good. OK OK compared to MAS. Reached HK, walked around. Saw a lot of Disney promotion. Again, hang out in the lounge. Nice.

Reach LA by 3pm. Kinda weird now. Seems like my body clock gone haywire. Have to take American Airlines to Texas. Went to tight security check. Oh my! The worse was the plane. We were put next to both engines of the little plane. Yucks!! :-( Stuck there for 3 hours. Bad experience.

Was glad to touch down... reached my apartment by taxi. Nice place. Rest and sleep.

3 weeks at home

Back home... easily overcome my jetlag. One reason is that the haze is back to Malaysia. It was the worse. So worse that we can see it everywhere and smell it instantly. Oh my, how I wish I was back in LA with the cool Pacific Air. My room was so dirty after I left it for 2 months. Eeeks... no choice... I slept like a baby ....

The next few weeks, things are better. Just my normal routine. Work, eat sleep... work eat sleep... work, eat sleep... :-S

Looking forward for my next trip to US again. This time to Texas. So many things to prepare!

Leaving Los Angeles

Monday comes near... today's the day. Feeling sad to leave to place. Taking things easy today. Had light lunch... pack my stuffs... watch TV ... rot at home somewhat. Wanted to go to the Museum but laziness took over me... after all not in high spirit anyway.

Took the flight at 1am after some difficulties returning ny rented car! My... it was frustrating... Got asleep after a light meal and then only awaken in Taiwan. Seems like Disney is promoting their newly built theme park in Hong Kong.

Energy from the wind

Sunday! Supposed to go to Universal Studio again today... but we had "completed" that yesterday, even though we bought a yearly ticket.. Ah... that's a waste... but seems like we were too tired. Decided to take a drive down I-10 freeway to see the infamous California windmills. This is the place where you'll see huge modern windmills in huge sheer numbers.

It tooks 2 and half hours to reach the place. Somewhat they are located near Palm Spring area. I wonder why there are so many in this area. Doesn't seem too windy to me! But the sight itself is amazing. The windmills are as huge as half a football field... and there are so many of them!! Whoaaa..... amazing...

The movie city

This is the last weekend for me in LA. Not going far this time, but to Hollywood Universal Studio. It's only a 45 min drive from my house. Well, sort of like we save the best for last.. The queue was exceptionally long on Sat. Wonder why there are so many people there. To solve the long queue problem we took the kiosk auto-tickets. Saved us 1 hour, I think.

It was great to be here. You can experience the movie life here. All sort of movies... Van Helsing, Babes, Back to Future, Apollo 13, Backdraft, so many.. I hardly can list down all here. There are props everywhere and each section has it's own theme. Brilliant. There are places where you can go for tour and experience the movie making process.

At night the CityWalk was fully alive. People were everywhere. Shops and streets were all lighted up. Kinda like Las Vegas! hahahaa... I enjoyed the night scene very much...

Go to zoo!

The next day... still energetic... again.. drove down to San Diego... this time we were early. But San Diego Zoo is nowhere so easy to reach like SeaWorld. Wow... this zoo is huge... one of the best. You can find any animals from amadillo to zebra... unfortunately...it's too huge... by the time we covered some animals, it's aready noon. Most animals sleep and hide away from the scorching sun of the noon... this was a huge turn down... can't spot any good animals as almost all were hiding away... :-(

It was also very tiring... after some time..we were so exhausted... feel like jumping into the pool with the flamingoes! Yet, still have 2 hours to drive home... my oh my...

And poor thing... we really pity the polar bear in the hot sun! Suspected it could be a human in disguise! How can a polar bear stand such weather???

To the Sea!!

This weekend we took another approach... going to SeaWorld. Something not to be missed when you are in LA, it seems. Woke up early in the morning and drove all way to San Diego...oh my... I was driving fast...because we were late..due to technical issue.. and San Diego is around 2 hours away...

SeaWorld is easy to find... we've got the tickets and head straight to the penguins... and Artic ... so much fun. It was good. Then there were dolphines show... whale and sea lion shows as well. Ya! We saw the "shamu" - or the killer whale in the local native term. Made popular by the movie "Free Willy"...

Heh.. then I saw one with crooked fin... hmmm.... wonder should I "free" it??? Hahahaha :->
