Second day at Disney
|
|
On the second day, after a night of disappointing wait for the fireworks, we returned with new anticipation. Today we are going to the other side - California Adventure. This park is less crowded and more relax. We tried the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror! And experienced the free fall.... oh my!! It's scary....
The park is huge... too tired to get to all, missed a few. At the end of the day, we waited at the Disney Castle to wait for the fireworks display. Again? Ya, hope this time we won't be disappointed. Waited for 3+ hours for it!! And it came.... finally, just like any Disney's movie... Tinkerbell flew in and started the spectacular event! It was too great... worth the wait ...worth the ticket... this is it... the finale.... a good closing for me at Disney

With ample of rest and some time to do research, this weekend, we went to the happiest place on the Earth - Disneyland! Yay!!!
Disneyland is near to my house, takes only 45 minutes. The only problem is that the entrance fee is expensive. Bought a 2 days ticket, cost $106! Oh my, better worth it!!!! Well, after going for so many attractions in Disney... I understand why this place is the most happiest place on the earth.
It was really good. All the cartoons, characters and props used, you can see and feel it here. So enlighthening. So welcoming. So entertaining.
The expensive ticket now is worth every cents... only to be turned down by the final cancellations of the fireworks display at night.

A weekend by the Riverside in the desert
|
|
This weekend, thought of dropping by my aunt's place in Riverside, in Orange County. A place near to Palm Spring. Driving to her place takes around 2 hours from LA. It's a hot and dry drive. Enduring the desert temparature all the way.
It is different... a good experience to have a feel on how to live in the desert - come out in the morning, hide in the house at noon, out again by the evening.
Temprature was from 107F to 92F. Went to San Bernardino for lunch. Nearly got baked in the car!

Pet weekend
|
|
After the long weekend in the canyons, we decided not to go anywhere this weekend... but just to rest. Also we had to replace a day off we took on Tue and work on Sat instead.
On Sunday when we went for lunch, spotted a pet show at Westchester Park on Lincoln Blvd! Nice! So many cute animals there. Have a look yourself!

It's 4th of July! Can't believe it. Time flies when you are having fun. Leaving this nice Grand Canyon International Hostel, I head to the actual Grand Canyon. Taking some of the scenic routes along the way.
Grand Canyon? It was huge! Gigantic. History said that it was created 350 millions years ago. Standing at the edge of the cliffs was really a great experience. The canyons are as far as your eyes can see... and as deep as well.... Majestic views! Wish I could be walking in the valleys deep down below...
Next, I drove down to another stunning nature wonder - the Arizona's meteor crater! This is the best preserved meteor craters in the world. You'll get some spooky feeling here. Feeling like aliens are watching you. And the wind was blowing so strong.... and then the huge vast plain around it... can't explain how I feel there. You have to be here ....

Power! Power!

After Vegas, the dry desert stuffs.... decided to drive to Flagstaff in Arizona. On the way there, I took route 93, and stopped by the infamous Hoover Dam!
Hey, this route is scenic. And it's not hot and dry here after all. The place gets greener and greener.... gone are the cactus and those dry brown bush. (you know what i refer to, like those in cowboy's movies)
Hoover Dam itself is majestic. It's huge, being there gives you a kind of strange feelings. Hey, remember those Hollywood scenes? The Peacemaker, Mission Impossible, James Bond... hehehe...
Power!! Power!!

This is a special long weekend in USA. It's the long weekend break due to 4th of July - it's USA Independence Day! After lots of hard work throughout the week... decided to drive to Las Vegas!! Wrong decision... just like me, thousands of Americans jammed up the road...travelling. It took me around 5 hours! And most of the time stuck in the dry desert of Mojave. Eeeksss...
Las Vegas? It's all alive when it comes to the night. Lights everywhere. It's like the city that never sleeps, At around 1am, thousands are still on the strip - the happening area in Las Vegas. Come over here, you'll know why it is also known as the "Sin City"... heh heh
Also the temparature is hot! And DRY! Tired, lack of sleep and the weather... I'm in dreamland soon...

After a long week of work, work and work, I have quite settled down. Getting a hang of it, huh? So this weekend, I decided to go Hollywood and Beverly Hills. It's a nice place to be... a lot of people. Star spotting? NONE!
Shopping? OK OK. Don't fancy shopping, but it's nice to look around. Drove along Rodeo Road and Sunset Boulevard. The happening roads....
Oh ya, Hollywood sign! It's hard to see it and to get the shots for it. It says in LA you only have 4 good spots to capture it. I went to one. If you had noticed, I had to stand in the middle of the road to get it!! (with cars coming both directions) What an experience!

This weekend I went to the next best beach. Venice Beach. This is one of the best happening places in LA. The beach is nice and the streets are alive!! So many things here. Streets performances, hawkers, people....
The next day, being adventurous, I drove up to Malibu. Taking the scenic view of Pacific Coast Highway. It was beautiful! Breathtaking! It's so good to be able to drive along the cliffs and to see the beautiful beach, sea and the high rise land!
Simply too great to be described!
